CONSTRUCTION: Easy cleaning, corrosion resistant stainless steel finish, welded with aluminized inner framing. Double wall construction with heavy insulation combined with a special flue design for cooler operation. Adjustable 4" stainless steel legs for easy leveling For the GAS FUNNEL CAKE FRYER. Installation clearances for non-combustible surfaces are 2" on sides and 6" in the rear, combustible surface clearances are 6" and 6". Hinged front door panel protects controls.

BURNERS: Long life, cast iron “H” pattern burners combined with a special “V” shaped tank design directs heat for excellent air circulation.

CONTROLS: Snap Action thermostat for fast recovery, 100% safety shut off, high limit control for back-up safety, automatic standing pilot and brass burner valves. Pressure regulators are set at the factory for natural gas and easily convertible to propane. Optimal pressures are 4" WC for natural gas and 10" WC for propane. Manifold size is 3/4" NPT. All controls are tested and confirmed in good working order. Calibration and adjustments are the responsibility of the installer.

Comstock-Castle Stove Co. (herein after Factory), warrants its new product(s) to be free from defects in material and workmanship under normal use for a period of one (1) year from the date of original installation, not to exceed eighteen (18) months after shipment form Factory or Factory facility. Factory warranty covers the contiguous United States, Alaska and Hawaii for both parts and labor. This warranty is extended to the original commercial user and is not transferable. Initial installation, including calibration, is considered to be a customer responsibility. The initial installation must be accomplished by an authorized service technician or a licensed plumber who is familiar with gas and combustion systems, or this warranty will be considered to be void. Reasonable service/labor costs, as defined by the factory, will be paid for a period not exceeding 90 days from the date of installation/calibration. Original parts will be replaced for one year from the date of initial installation, upon return (at customer's expense) of the defective part, at no charge to the customer for the part or outbound shipping. Expenses for shipping of parts requested by 2nd day or next day service will be at owners expense.

PROVISIONS:

Proof of installation date must be submitted on the factory supplied Warranty Registration/Installation Checklist prior to work being performed.
B) Such repair shall be performed within fifty (50) miles from an office of a Factory Authorized Service Agency or sub-agent or any other licensed agent approved in writing by Factory.
C) The equipment has not been damaged, altered or misused.
D) The equipment is properly installed, adjusted, operated and maintained in accordance with national, state and local codes for commercial kitchens and in accordance with the installation instructions provided with this product.
E) The warranty serial number plaque affixed to the appliance has not been defaced, obliterated or removed.
F) An acceptable report of any claim under this warranty shall be supplied to Factory within thirty (30) days of the work performed.

EXCLUSIONS:

Factory shall have no obligation as to any product(s) which have been misapplied, mishandled, abused, misused, subjected to harsh chemical action or poor water/gas quality, modified without written approval from the factory, damaged by flood, fire or other acts of nature.
B) Re-calibrations associated with the replacement of a defective part otherwise covered under this warranty for labor will be covered to the extent of one (1) service call (i.e. the call during which the part is replaced).
C) Factory assumes no responsibility for travel costs beyond 100 miles round trip, travel other than overland and ovbertime costs of repair.
D) Factory excludes paint and porcelain finish, gasket material, ceramic material from normal coverage.
E) Factory liability on a claim of warranty shall not exceed the price of the material and/or service which caused the claim.
F) This warranty is limited and is in lieu of all other warranties, expressed or implied. Factory employees or agents shall not be held liable for any claims of personal injury or conseqeuntial damage or loss.
G) Factory assumes no responsibility for installation, adjustments, diagnosis or normal maintenance such as lubrication of springs or valves.

RETURN:

Return allowed within 90 days of invoice date, with prior written authorization from the factory, shipped freight prepaid. Equipment must be unused and in packaging acceptable for a damage free return. A 20% restocking charge is assessable.

Comstock-Castle Stove began with Allen Comstock and Timothy H. Castle moving to Quincy and Adams County in the mid 1830s. Both opened hardware stores: Comstock in Quincy and Castle in nearby Columbus, Illinois. Stoves brought by riverboat from New York and St. Louis were prominent items sold by both firms.

Comstock started a foundry to manufacture stoves and hollow ware in 1846 and the primary business of the company since that time has been stove manufacturing. While Comstock's business was called A. Comstock & Company the foundry was known as the Phoenix Stove Works. Over the years, Quincy became a center for stove manufacturing with numerous foundries operating. Most of these foundries were started by former employees of Comstock-Castle Stove.Comstock-Castle owned other stove manufacturing companies in Quincy, IL and Keokuk, IA. More stoves were made in Quincy, Illinois in the 1800s than anywhere else. In the early 1900s Comstock-Castle's logo claimed to be the "World's Largest Sellers."

In 1849 Allen Comstock left Illinois for the California gold rush leaving his brother Enoch in charge of the company. In the 1850s Timothy Castle bought into the stove foundry forming a partnership. During the American Civil War the company name changed to Comstock-Castle Stove Company and the Castle family took over the management of the business. The present management of the company is sixth generation of this Castle family.

By 1884 corporations had become common and the company incorporated as a 99 year corporation, reincorporating in 1983 as a perpetual corporation.

The company made domestic and commercial cooking and heating equipment and incinerators until the depression years of the 1930s. During the depression, the unprofitable and more competitive domestic, heating and incinerator lines were dropped. Natural gas became the preferred fuel by the 1930s and the wood and coal stoves were phased out of the company product lines.

Currently, the company manufactures commercial (restaurant) cooking equipment selling in the U.S. and internationally. Comstock-Castle has a network of service and warranty repair agencies established throughout the United States. The company uses their own sales force to market their products to restaurant equipment and supply companies. Every year the company exhibits at numerous international, national, and regional restaurant trade shows. In export markets, the company uses a mix of import agents in specific countries or regions and some export management companies in other areas.

The company is a member of the North American Association of Food Equipment Manufactures (NAFEM) and has a NAFEM Level 1 Certified Foodservice Professional (CFSP) on staff and serving on the Board of Directors of NAFEM.

The company's main emphasis at the present time is to improve the quality of its products and services while adding new products to the mix.
